About the Role
We are seeking dedicated and skilled nursing and/or midwifery professionals to join our team, where you will provide exceptional care across a variety of health service settings. Your expertise, developed through experience and/or further study, will allow you to progress from a competent practitioner to a proficient one. You will be accountable for maintaining high practice standards, overseeing delegated tasks, and mentoring less experienced staff, ensuring that best practices are upheld. In this role, you will support the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) or equivalent in leading and guiding the nursing staff within your ward/unit/service. You will play a vital role in promoting continuity of care by collaborating with other A/NUMs and the NUM, assisting in the implementation of practice changes, and helping manage key operational responsibilities such as performance management, recruitment, rostering, staffing, and leave management. Additionally, you will support the financial and supplies planning and monitoring, making a significant impact on the service's smooth and effective operation.
About You
We are looking for a passionate and skilled nursing or midwifery professional who is ready to take on a leadership role in a dynamic healthcare environment. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on patient care and staff development while fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
- Registered Nurse with current practising certificate and at least 3 years post-registration experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills , with the ability to drive change and improve care models.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, supervise, and develop staff , fostering a supportive and innovative workplace.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare standards , legislation, and contemporary nursing/midwifery practices, with a focus on person-centred care.
