Head of Digital – Performance Marketing & Creative Strategy
About My Client
My client is a performance-driven digital growth agency that primarily partners with eCommerce brands (including retail and FMCG), spending $10,000–$250,000 per month on advertising. They focus on scalable, profitable growth by combining data-driven strategy with high-performing creativity. Their structure is built for execution at scale, meaning they don't need a platform specialist—they need a strategic leader who understands what it takes to grow brands efficiently across Meta, Google, TikTok, and Amazon Ads (a plus).
The Role
My client is looking for an experienced Head of Digital to lead performance marketing strategy and creative consultation. This role is designed to replace their current digital leadership and will be pivotal in driving strategic, scalable, and profitable marketing campaigns.
You'll be the key strategic lead, guiding media strategy, creative direction, and client relationships while ensuring the team executes world-class campaigns. You'll need to understand how ad creatives & campaign structure drive performance, knowing what works, what doesn't, and how to brief for new creatives that will improve results.
While their execution team handles campaign & ad builds, you'll be responsible for ensuring ad accounts are fuelled with top-performing creative, overseeing marketing calendars, forecasting, creative testing, and performance reporting to optimise growth.
Key Responsibilities
● Lead Digital Strategy – Develop and execute scalable, profitable performance marketing strategies across paid media platforms.
● Creative Strategy & Consultation – Analyse creative performance, identify winning trends, and consult clients on what creatives to test next.
● Briefing & Creative Collaboration – Work with clients and creative teams to develop high-impact ad creatives that improve performance.
● Client Management – Act as the strategic lead, presenting insights, creative recommendations, and growth strategies to clients.
● Marketing Planning & Forecasting – Build marketing calendars, revenue forecasts, and media plans to hit business KPIs.
● Cross-Platform Expertise – Guide campaign strategy across Meta, Google, TikTok, Amazon Ads, and ideally programmatic channels.
● Performance Analysis & Reporting – Own client reporting, identifying data-driven insights that improve efficiency and scale.
● Process & Team Development – Build SOPs and workflows for the digital team to execute best-in-class campaigns.
Who You Are
● 5+ years of performance marketing experience in an agency environment.
● Deep understanding of scalable growth strategies—not just running ads, but driving real, profitable growth.
● Ecommerce expertise—you've worked with small, medium, and large brands spending $10K–$250K per month on ads.
● Strong creative understanding—you know what makes ad creatives perform and how to brief for new high-converting assets.
● Client-facing leadership skills—you know how to build rapport and act as a trusted digital advisor.
● Analytical mindset—you're comfortable working with data to uncover insights and drive better performance.
● Programmatic experience is a major plus—understanding of DSPs and real-time bidding is valuable.
● Amazon Ads experience is also highly desirable.
