As a Sustainability Officer, you will play a key role in implementing projects and programs aligned with the University’s leading Environmental Sustainability Plan.
This role offers the opportunity to work across a breadth of sustainability initiatives, from energy and carbon reduction to environmental compliance, waste and recycling, biodiversity, and sustainable transport, helping to shape a more sustainable future.
In this role you will:
- Lead and implement environmental sustainability projects and programs to achieve environmental compliance, enhance staff and student engagement, biodiversity improvements and drive net zero waste initiatives.
- Manage consultants and contracts, supporting internal functions to deliver leading sustainability programs, including staff engagement campaigns.
- Provide expert advice to stakeholders, ensuring sustainability initiatives align with operational and maintenance requirements.
This continuing position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

What we offer
The remuneration for this position is from $103,641 to $116,596 plus 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

- A degree with at least four years subsequent relevant environmental sustainability experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in an environmental sustainability related field; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and or education/training.
- Proven experience implementing the principles of environmental sustainability and their practical application across a large complex organisation.
- Demonstrated project management, data management and organisational skills including the ability to undertake the design, management, and delivery of multiple, concurrent, complex projects.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and capacity to build relationships and an inter-disciplinary way of working.
