Apply with 11 Recruitment today!The Downing Hostel is seeking a full-time, dedicated, and highly motivated manager team to oversee day-to-day operations at our centrally located Sydney accommodation.
Located next to World Square, the hostel offers a range of options, including dorms and private rooms, with amenities like free Wi-Fi, free laundry, and bar discounts. The ideal manager will ensure that all guests enjoy a comfortable, safe, and memorable experience in this vibrant and convenient location.
The primary objective of this role is to ensure smooth operations, maintain a high level of guest satisfaction, and guarantee the highest standards of compliance and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of The Downing Hostel’s daily operations, ensuring high standards of quality are maintained.
- Maintain the online reservation system, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
- Prioritize guest satisfaction by responding to feedback and implementing improvements to enhance their experience.
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote the hostel’s services, amenities, and offerings.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers and tour operators.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of all areas within the hostel, ensuring smooth and effective service.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory obligations, including Responsible Service of Alcohol and Safety requirements.
- Train and develop staff to ensure optimal performance and excellent guest service.
- Coordinate and implement daily, weekly, and monthly hostel tasks, including cashing up, recycling, and waste disposal.
- Ensure the efficient running of the hostel, making sure all systems, facilities, and procedures comply with legislation, health and safety requirements, and lease provisions.
- Oversee the ordering of supplies, manage supplier relationships, and ensure cost-effective purchasing in line with financial procedures.
- Relevant qualification
- Minimum 1 year relevant work experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Professionally presented with a warm and empathetic personality;
- Have a strong focus on customer service, with the ability to communicate effectively, and work in a team environment
- Excellent administration skills and attention to detail.
Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $70,000 - $80,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
