As our business evolves, so does the need to expand our team! An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, conscientious and diligent individual to join us as a Senior Station Hand/s. This role will be based at Rosehall, North east of Chinchilla. There is also opportunity to travel between the properties to help with mustering and drafting cattle, infrastructure projects and community activities.
About the Role:
Full-time employment working five days per week, with some weekend work required.
Focus on livestock and animal husbandry including branding, weaning, drafting, castrating, trucking, vaccinations.
Monitor and supply nutrition to livestock as seasonally required
Monitor and maintain of water supply to livestock, along with the installation of poly pipe to create new water resources
Mustering with the use of two-wheel motorbikes, and some horse work but not necessary to be able to ride a horse.
General maintenance and repair of various machinery and tools including work vehicles
Maintenance and repair of fencing
Assistance to maintain and improve infrastructure within the station compound
Biosecurity adherence including the spraying of weeds
Observation and communication of day-to-day occurrences to assist in maintaining an excellent standard of workmanship
What we need from you:
A focus on cleanliness, maintaining a tidy workplace, strong attention to detail and demonstrated pride in your work is highly regarded
The ability to complete tasks to an exceptional standard both autonomously and as a part of a small, dedicated team
A positive and willing attitude to combat the fast paced, everchanging and unpredictable nature of the livestock industry
A dedication to maintaining excellent communication both verbally and through channels including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Safe Ag and AgriWebb
A minimum of two years farm and/or livestock experience is required
A trade qualification is highly advantageous
A current manual driver’s licence is mandatory
A truck licence is highly desirable
