About the Role
Our client operates a grain handling facility in NSW Central West and has exciting development plans. To align with this, they have created the role of QA Officer. This role will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing food safety and quality standards across the facility. With the introduction of FSSC 22000 at the site, this position offers a rare opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to upholding the highest food safety and quality standards.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the business delivers safe, compliant, and high-quality products that meet both regulatory requirements and our customers' specifications. This includes working closely with our production teams to integrate FSSC 22000 and other certification principles into daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
You will work closely with external consultants, Production Managers and team members to implement and maintain compliance with the evolving FSSC 22000 Food Safety Program. In addition, you will ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations, conducting root cause analyse (RCA) to prevent recurrence of incidents.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Support the team with training and compliance for our FSSC 22000 Food Safety Program
- Maintain QA records and documentation
- Coordinate quality assurance activities like testing, audits, and reviews
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders
- Analyse quality data to drive improvements
- Ensure product safety through routine daily testing and support of R&D
About You
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented professional with a passion for food safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. You will be data driven and systems savvy with a high attention to detail.
- Experience in Food Manufacturing, Food Safety, and Hygiene
- Prior experience in a quality driven role
- Sound knowledge of HACCP and its application and an understanding of FSSC 22000 standards (or willingness to develop expertise)
- Solid computer skills with the ability to analyse and interpret quality-related data.
- a genuine ability to work with people - manage stakeholders, investigate complaints, work collaboratively
