The Role
As a Diesel Mechanic at Tandy Diesel Repairs, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related components. You will work on a variety of vehicles, including trucks, buses, and agricultural machinery, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines and related systems
- Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend solutions
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance services
- Maintain an organised, clean and tidy workshop, compliant with safety regulations
- Provide excellent customer service at all times
Requirements
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification
- Strong preference for truck licence - (minimum LR, prefer HC or HR or working towards)
- Valid NSW driver's licence, White Card, Dangerous goods and Forklift licence
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic and with a strong understanding of diesel engine systems and components
- Confident in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Good standard of general literacy
- Sound communication skills and a Customer service focus
- Ability/desire to supervise apprentices.
