The Opportunity
Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Instrumentation Electrician in our Electrical Services team based in Port Kembla . As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
In this critical role, you will be able to use your technical background and experience to ensure that the equipment is maintained to the highest standards to meet our objectives for safety, quality and reliability. Reporting to the Instrumentation Maintenance Team Leader, you will work with a team of specialist electricians throughout the Port Kembla site on instrumentation-based equipment. Self-motivated, you will enjoy keeping busy and working in a supportive environment, where your safety and that of your colleagues is a priority.
This role also welcomes industrial Electricians to apply who are interested in a development opportunity to be trained on Instrumentation equipment.
What Will You Do?
You will undertake a variety of work including repairs, maintenance and commissioning of instrumentation-based equipment and support the team with root cause analysis, reporting and troubleshooting. You will:
- complete planned maintenance and inspection activities
- support the team with breakdown and fault-finding response
- participate in team reliability and improvement activities
- work collaboratively with other maintenance team colleague and supervisors
More About You
As an experienced and technically capable instrumentation technician, you will bring:
- an electrical trade qualification
- an NSW Supervisors licence
- a commitment to your own safety and wellbeing and care for others
- experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
- a strong interest in learning electrical instrumentation equipment
- effective communication and reporting skills
