Position Title: Disability Support Worker

Employment Type: Casual

Hourly Rate: $32 per hour

Position Overview: We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team. The Disability Support Worker will provide high-quality, personalized support to participants in alignment with their NDIS goals. You will work closely with clients to assist with daily activities, promote independence, and facilitate social inclusion in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide person-centered support to participants with varying disabilities in their homes, community, or other care settings.

Assist with daily living tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, housekeeping, and medication management.

Support participants to develop life skills, participate in social and recreational activities, and engage with their community.

Develop and implement individual support plans in collaboration with participants, families, and other team members.

Foster an environment of respect, dignity, and empowerment while promoting participants' autonomy and independence.

Monitor and document participants’ progress towards their NDIS goals and provide reports to the team leader.

Ensure all support services meet the highest standards of care and compliance with NDIS guidelines.

Adhere to workplace health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for participants and staff.

Assist with mobility and transportation, ensuring participants can access necessary appointments and activities.

Be a positive role model and mentor, offering encouragement and motivation to participants to achieve their goals.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or a related field (or willingness to complete).

Previous experience working as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar role is highly desirable.

Understanding of NDIS policies and practices, or a willingness to learn.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with participants, families, and other professionals.

Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to working with people with disabilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

Valid Driver's License and access to reliable transportation (if required for the role).

Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).

Note: A National Police Check will be conducted during the onboarding process.
