About the role

Join us as Dodo launches mobile in Retail! We are looking for an Account Manager with experience in the telecommunications sector to join our close-knit team in Melbourne or Sydney. This role is pivotal for the growth of our mobile business and is part of the Partner team within the Consumer division at Vocus. As the main point of contact for all account needs for retailers such as Coles and Woolworths, you will play a crucial role in delivering the best outcomes for Dodo.

You will also lead internal collaboration across sales, product, marketing, and commercial teams to ensure an integrated plan for in-store execution, product promotions, and sales, driving growth and achieving key sales, commercial, and customer metrics.

What you’ll be doing day-to-day

  • Account Management and Partner Engagement: Develop effective and influential partner engagement, becoming the central contact for partners like Coles and Woolworths. Present at range reviews and negotiate space, promotions, and commercials to ensure the best outcomes for Dodo.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work across the business to ensure key accounts are successful by briefing commercial, product, and marketing teams. Lead collaboration with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Commercial to meet retail planning cycles and ensure commissions and invoicing are completed for partner accounts.
  • Sales and Strategic Initiatives: Continuously build and maintain a pipeline of sales activity through prospecting and pipelining for new partnerships. Drive sales campaigns and strategic initiatives, plan for account growth, identify opportunities for expansion, and drive action plans to deliver sales outcomes.
  • Account Planning and Reporting: Develop a well-defined account plan integrating products, marketing, and sales to maximize opportunities across retail partners. Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using account metrics and present in trade forums.
  • Industry Insights and Capability Building: Leverage industry and product knowledge to share insights on how Dodo can maximize business benefits through account partnerships. Conduct comprehensive account reviews with partners, provide insights for retail success in mobile, and collaborate with the wider partner team to ensure alignment with stock, broadband, and energy sales.

What you’ll bring to this role

  • Retail Account Management Experience: Extensive experience as an account manager for retailers, with a strong understanding of the retail sector, particularly in mobile SIM sales within the supermarkets vertical.
  • Financial and Strategic Communication: Proficient in grasping, comprehending, communicating, and presenting financial, strategic, and operational information to a wide audience.
  • Commercial Negotiation and Management: Skilled in negotiating and managing commercials, with a high level of detail orientation and sound commercial acumen.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Building: Strong ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders across various areas, understanding the importance of partnerships and showcasing value.
  • Legal Liaison and Long-term Planning: Capable of working with stakeholders on long-term go-to-market plans and liaising with legal teams regarding contractual negotiations and ongoing activities.
  • High performing with excellent stakeholder management skills, known for solving difficult problems with rigorous logic and effective decisions.
  • The ability to anticipate future trends accurately, creating competitive strategies and plans, and are widely trusted and collaborative.
