The Opportunity
This role forms part of our Contract Management team which is responsible for managing a range of construction and road maintenance contracts necessary to enable vital planned and emergency works. We collaborate with industry as well as workers on site to keep our State moving and operating efficiently.
The Senior Business Support Officer is accountable to the Director for Contract Management for the provision of highly confidential administrative services to deliver exceptional outcomes to the Director and Directorate more broadly.

We’ re looking for someone who is motivated and passionate about making a difference. To be successful in this role you’ ll be able to demonstrate the following skills and qualities:
- Provide proactive administrative and secretarial support, serving as a key contact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage correspondence, proofread and edit documents and emails, and ensure efficient project coordination.
- Coordination of travel/ accommodation arrangements.
- Records management, meeting coordination, room bookings and diary management.
- Work autonomously, coordinating agency functions with a solution-driven mindset.
- Adapt to shifting priorities, multitasking effectively in fast-paced environments.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, lateral thinking,
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Bring enthusiasm, motivation, and a team-oriented attitude.
- Excel at working independently and collaboratively, prioritising tasks to achieve objectives.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Special Conditions
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
Tenure of Vacancy
Temporary appointment up to 12 months
Remuneration
ASO4 - $76,561 to $80,256 pa + superannuation
