About the role
The Team Leader of the Aboriginal Student Support Team at TAFE NSW plays a vital role in supporting students and Aboriginal Student Support Officers within the Western Sydney Region. You will support students in achieving positive outcomes of success for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students while building effective stakeholder relationships.
We have this rewarding opportunity where you can make a real difference in the lives of students and your communities. Join our Aboriginal Engagement and Student Support team in a leadership role on a Permanent, full-time basis, based in any one of our campuses servicing the Western Sydney region.
About You
You will have strong leadership skills and demonstrated experience in leading a dynamic Aboriginal team across a large geographical footprint, as well as, building relationships with students and other stakeholders.
Bringing your experience and influencing skills you will share your knowledge, consult and collaborate on cultural appropriate strategies. Being resilient and flexible you are comfortable with constructively managing conflict, mediating and you manage issues with sensitivity and confidentiality. You have demonstrated ability in using Office 365 and a strong background in administration (highly desirable within the education sector).
Essential Requirements
- A valid Working with Children Check (required prior to commencement).
- Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
- Aboriginality (Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act of 1977). Candidate should present proof of Aboriginality as part of their application.
