Your Role:
This role necessitates management and accountability for achievement of profit, growth and service objectives within the P&C Chubb Central including:
• Managing the Short tail or long tail teams to deliver best in class underwriting services
• Providing leadership, motivation and business expertise to the Chubb Central team and internal stakeholders
• Implementing the respective product line strategies in relation to policy and premium growth rate , retention and service turnaround times
• Managing the on-going requirements related to compliance, audit and underwriting guidelines for Chubb Central
• Contribute to improvement in NPS and OSAT scores
• Participate as a member of the Chubb Central leadership group
Your Responsibilities:
Underwriting Profit
• Meeting growth objectives of the business plan with a special emphasis on Rate & Retention targets and New Business where applicable
• Developing and implementing the Chubb Central business plan; in conjunction with other stakeholders including Product Managers, Distribution, Operations , Claims and the Digital First Enterprise
• Understanding the attributes and drivers of profitability in each portfolio
• Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and increased Straight Through Processing ( STP ) for each product line Analysing problems and implement actions to improve position
• Adhering to expense targets
Service & Marketing
• Ensure quality in all aspects of service delivery and supporting documentation addressing any gaps with appropriate solutions
• Allocate work appropriately across the team to ensure optimal service
• Pre-empt and/or solve service issues
• Actively promote Chubb Central with all stakeholders through communications with Distribution and claims
• Work closely with the relevant Digital First Enterprise Domains and squads to deliver digital transformation objectives
Underwriting Quality & Integrity
• Ensure adherence to underwriting standards as established by P&C
• Achieve Underwriting Audit Scores (including Self-Audits) of 80% or higher (B grade)
• Maintain appropriate file documentation; ensure accurate risk reports are completed and Underwriting Authority sought in advance where required
• Contribute to the UW quality improvement across all A&NZ portfolios through constructive
Staff Development
• Recruiting, motivating, managing, developing and retaining staff
• Managing staff development and performance
• Implementing Chubb’s diverse workplace strategy
• Determining and delivering or provisioning training needs inside and outside Chubb Central
• Actively coaching teams and stakeholders on the Chubb culture and values
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of the Insurance Industry and specific underwriting/marketing proficiency in P&C gained through ten (10) or more years of applicable experience.
- Proven analytical skills necessary to manage multiple portfolios across the A&NZ geography.
- Demonstrable skill and experience in leading, coaching, motivating and developing staff
- Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, negotiation and decision making skills to be capable of dealing with and presenting to all levels of Chubb personnel as well producers and clients.
- Ability to implement and influence change to products, processes and systems
