We now have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager to join Electricity Transmission team in Melbourne on a permanent full-time basis.
The role will be responsible for ensuring all contractual matters are properly and effectively negotiated, documented, and implemented according to company standards. This role involves significant interaction with senior/project managers and key suppliers to ensure the successful administration of contracts within the electricity transmission sector.
Key Responsibilities

Commercially, finalise contractual documents ensuring compliance with company standards and legal regulations. This includes ensuring that all necessary approvals are obtained before finalising contracts.

Administer the tendering, evaluation, and award of contracts, managing the entire tendering process, from issuing invitations to tender to evaluating bids and awarding contracts. Ensure that the process is transparent and fair, and that all documentation is properly maintained.

Oversee the contractual aspects of major contracts, monitoring the execution of major contracts to ensure compliance with agreed terms and conditions. This includes regular reviews and audits of contract performance.

Assess, review, and advise on contractor claims for variations, progress claims, and extensions. Provide recommendations to senior management on the validity of these claims and negotiate resolutions with contractors.

Verify that all financial and commercial obligations under the contract are met, including payments, deliverables, and compliance with performance standards.

Foster strong working relationships with key suppliers to ensure effective communication and collaboration. This includes regular meetings, performance reviews, and addressing any issues promptly to maintain a positive working relationship.
Your background

Relevant tertiary qualifications.

Extensive experience in contract management within the electricity transmission industry, construction industry or a similar sector.

Proven track record in managing large-scale contracts and resolving complex contractual issues.

Strong communication skills to liaise with stakeholders and address any contractual issues.
