About The Role:
This rewarding opportunity will see you join the Mater Hospital in North Sydney as Casual Chef in our Food Services Department. You will bring your passion to the role where you will work with a diverse and High performing team.
- Casual experienced chef with a background in a hotel or a health environment to work in our fast-paced Room service kitchen.
- Your role will involve supporting our executive Chef and team to ensure our Patients and staff receive the highest quality meals.
- The ideal candidate will be available to work a 7-Day Rotating roster and have the flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends.
About You:
- As an outstanding Chef you will have previous experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment and a passion and dedication with a focus on serving the highest quality dishes.
- A minimum 4 years' experience in the health or catering industry as a qualified chef would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety procedures.
- Ability to work on a rotating roster.
- Maintain high standards within the catering areas.
- Maintenance and compliance of HACCP procedures.
- Maintain variety and presentation standards within the 4 Star requirements set by Management.

About The Mater:
In this role you will be based at the Mater hospital, North Sydney.
- One of Sydney’s premier private hospitals.
- Close by to train stations at North Sydney, St Leonards, and Crows Nest, and buses on Pacific Highway.
- The only Australian hospital that is a member of the International Society of Orthopaedic Centres.
- Core specialties include Obstetrics, Orthopaedics including hip and knee joint replacements, bone and sports injuries, cardiology, cancer care and surgery, lung and vascular medicine, ear, nose and throat surgery, urology, endocrine surgery, and neurosurgery.
