About The Role
Join Lonsec’s Sydney-based Tailored Solutions team to deliver comprehensive reporting, performance analysis, and data analytics. Collaborate with Senior Investment Consultants, portfolio managers, the LIS team, and the Quantitative Strategist to develop and maintain quantitative analysis for Investment Consulting products and services. The role also involves managing relationships with key dealer group clients and providing tailored solutions.
Position Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Analysis
· Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain data governance processes
· Interpret data and analyse results using statistical techniques
· Identify, analyse and interpret trends or patterns relating to key performance indicators in complex data sets
· Identify anomalies in various data sources
· Filter and “clean” data
Reporting
· Incorporate data analysis into designated ongoing reports
· Use analysed data to create reports identifying process improvement opportunities
· On request of the Senior Consultants - prepare and create reports to assist with ongoing quality management
· Provide input to the model portfolio construction process (including asset allocation, fund research, selection and portfolio construction advice) and other consulting services, such as APL reviews
· Assist with the quantitative analysis, tools and inputs to Lonsec’s consulting services
Additional
· Assistance with preparation and delivery of presentations for PD Days, new client pitches and conferences
Prerequisite Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 12 months of relevant industry experience
- Experience with asset consultants, research houses, dealer groups, or fund managers, focusing on client and performance reporting
- Strong writing skills with attention to detail, able to synthesize financial information clearly and concisely
- Quantitative research skills with experience analyzing and manipulating data, ideally in asset allocation analysis
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, able to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Strong understanding of investment markets, asset classes, and asset allocation
- Effective communication and relationship management skills for client interactions and query resolution
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve personal objectives
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
- Demonstrated interest in finance and investment
Essential qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in a business or mathematical discipline (e.g., BComm, BBus, BA, BEc, BSc, BApSci)
- Preferred (but not essential):
- Honours Year
- Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA)
- CFA Level 1
- Postgraduate Diploma in Finance/Management/Commerce/Financial Planning
- MBA, Economics, Commerce, or Applied Finance
- Required qualifications for research authorship on published reports
- SDIA PS146 Accreditation required if speaking to a retail audience
