Aurecon’s Western Australian Environment and Planning team have a strong capability from project planning and feasibility to construction on a wide range of projects across both WA and Australia. You will play an integral part in a team that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across the energy, resources, transport, land and water, built environment and government sectors.
Our current committed and projected workload provides a unique and specific opportunity for a Senior Environmental Consultant, and an Associate Environmental Consultant, Scientists or Engineers to join the team in our Perth office. The roles offers diverse, interesting and challenging work with the opportunity to make your mark in a consulting environment.
Here are the key things you will do:
- Use your experience in applying Commonwealth and Western Australian environmental approvals legislation to prepare approvals strategies,
- Have input into preparing fee proposals and tender submissions, assessing and reporting on technical documentation, leading multi-disciplinary project teams, managing sub-consultants, and delivery of projects,
- Interact with internal and external clients, providing sound advice that meets client needs.
What are we looking for from you?
You’ll have a genuine passion for re-imagining problems and continuous learning to help shape the future. To be successful, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Law or similar
- Experience in managing and coordinating the process of obtaining necessary permits and approvals from government agencies for projects, including environmental assessments, and other regulatory requirements. Includes approvals required under the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth) (EPBC Act), Environmental Protection Act WA 1986 (Part IV and Part V), and Mining Act WA 1978
- Experience in liaising with internal teams, external stakeholders, and government officials to ensure compliance and timely project/approval progression for development projects
- Have input into, or lead preparing fee proposals and tender submissions, assessing and reporting on technical documentation, leading multi-disciplinary project teams, managing sub-consultants, and delivery of projects
- Demonstrated team leadership, development and growth (Associate role)
- Understanding of mineral resource and industrial activities would be beneficial
