Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Trainee Support Officer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must be comfortable performing a wide range of tasks. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia .

You will be supporting different areas of the business, including Engineering, Program Performance (PMO), Governance, Culture & Engagement, and site and project administration. It’s a great opportunity to learn new skills and gain experience in a program which is transforming Queensland.

Key accountabilities:

  • Assist with general administration tasks such a printing, photocopying, document management, and record keeping.

  • Provide governance support to ensure alignment with project and company requirements.

  • Providing administrative support to senior personnel, including diary management.

  • Supporting the creation and processing of internal and external correspondence & reports.

  • Supporting project reporting to ensure requirements are delivered on time and in the correct format.

  • Preparation of meeting packs including compilation and distribution of agenda and briefing papers, minute taking, and recording and follow up of actions, while maintaining discretion and confidentiality with sensitive material and information.

  • Managing project specific materials, processes and registers following company and Project procedures.

  • Ordering of PPE, office supplies, and other project materials.

  • Supporting the creation and facilitation of culture and engagement activities.

  • Collaborating with and providing administrative support to the wider Project teams.

Skills and experience:

  • Interest in pursuing a Traineeship in Business or similar.

  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated time management skills and a willingness to learn.

  • Strong communication abilities to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

  • Understanding of administrative tasks and using software from the Microsoft Office suite.

  • A keen interest in construction or engineering would be advantageous.
