About The Role
As Acting Head of Department - English, you will lead with impact, our Foundations First approach to ensure seamless transitions, engaged classrooms, and students who are calm, ready, and actively shaping their own learning journey.
We are seeking a dynamic and future-focused leader with the vision and drive to lead innovation in English education, shaping progressive and forward-thinking assessment practices. Committed to fostering a student-centered learning environment, you will cultivate meaningful professional relationships with students, teachers, parents, and the wider community. Your leadership will inspire curiosity, collaboration, and excellence across Junior English and the full suite of Senior English courses, including Literature, empowering students to achieve their highest potential.
As Head of Department (Secondary) English you will agenda the following responsibilities including, but not limited to;
Enact the school's vision and values to ensure the further evolution of a high-quality professional learning community developing students as futures-focused, global citizens;Lead a dynamic and capable English Faculty to maximise student learning days and advance our commitment to student learning growth;Enrich the development and scalability of high-quality teaching and learning aligned to responsive and effective pedagogies;Lead English Faculty data analysis to systematically deliver aspirational academic learning targets across both junior secondary and senior secondary;Lead professional development opportunities for staff aligned to Bellbird's CLC strategy that builds staff collective capability to learn, share and reflect on our teaching practices that measure the impact on student learning;Develop capability of all teachers to deliver high quality and responsive learning experiences and tailored supports for individual students.
