Description:
This newly created position will act as the People & Performance Lead across Australia and New Zealand , supporting approximately 350-400 employees and partnering directly with a highly capable senior leadership team.
The core mandate is to elevate HR from a generalist function into a strategic performance engine - enabling leaders to build high-performing teams, embed culture, and drive capability uplift in line with commercial goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a trusted partner and performance coach to senior leaders , helping drive productivity, optimise workforce design, and embed commercial acumen into people strategies.
- Leading cultural integration across acquired businesses, aligning legacy structures and behaviours with the organisation's values and operating model.
- Driving strategic organisation design and workforce planning , including structural optimisation, capability mapping, succession planning, and talent frameworks.
- Partnering on M&A integration - onboarding new businesses into the group's way of working, supporting change leadership and people strategy harmonisation.
- Supporting capability building through leadership development , coaching, and targeted performance uplift programs.
- Working closely with the CEO and General Manager of People & Performance to define and deliver key strategic initiatives across ANZ.
- Managing a small HRBP team (Sydney and Melbourne), while leveraging a newly created Central People Ops function for admin, compliance and governance.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with SLT to support international rollouts and harmonise people frameworks across regions.
This is a highly strategic yet hands-on role that requires strong commercial thinking, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to operate as both an advisor and delivery partner.
Requirements:
This role is suited to a senior HR professional who thrives in high-growth, change-heavy environments and brings a track record of building strategic people functions that directly support business performance.
You may have worked in startup, scale-up or transformation-heavy corporate environments - either way, your strength lies in creating structure from ambiguity and partnering with leaders to translate people strategy into commercial impact.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A strong background in organisational design, performance frameworks, workforce planning and change management .
- Experience working through M&A integration , particularly cultural alignment and capability uplift.
- A commercial mindset and the ability to link people initiatives to business outcomes - including financial KPIs, productivity, and performance measures.
- High emotional intelligence and stakeholder engagement skills , with the confidence to influence C-suite executives and coach senior leaders.
- A deep understanding of leadership capability , employee experience, and behavioural science - a background in psychology or organisational development is highly regarded.
- A flexible and grounded approach - you're equally comfortable in the boardroom and rolling your sleeves up with your team.
- A passion for driving cultural change, employee engagement, and high-performance ways of working.
- A confident communicator who can challenge thinking constructively and guide business leaders to better decisions.

- Base salary of circa $200k + 20% STI + super
