Description:
This position is responsible for ensuring that JAWS Contracting (NT) Pty Ltd comply with legislative, statutory and client requirements for all Work Health Safety and Environmental issues in the corporate sector and for each project.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote a positive HSE culture and awareness of system elements to all JAWS Contracting personnel and subcontractors.Ensure that HSE requirements are established, implemented and maintained in accordance with statutory legislation and to meet client requirements.Ensure compliance of JAWS Contracting’s HSE management plans and procedures with the relevant state and federal legislations.Ensure the company’s HSE systems comply with the Integrated Management System and to the requirements of ISO 45001:2018, and ISO14001:2015.Conduct corporate and project level safety and environmental related training as required.Oversee Incident Investigation and Injury Management process.Carry out internal site project and corporate audits and regular reviews of JAWS Contracting’s HSE Management Systems and Processes.Maintain the document libraries for legislation including acts, regulations, codes of practice and guidelines.Ensure assessments of subcontractors and suppliers are made by the procurement personnel and the appropriate records are maintained.Report on HSE performance to senior management for review and as a basis for improvement of the HSE system. (To achieve this, facilitate monthly HSE Reviews and annual HSE Reviews in accordance with legislation and (ISO 45001:2018 & 14001: 2015).Prepare tender and project documentation for:- HSE and Environmental Management Plans; and
- HSE and Environmental Hazard & Risk Assessments (CRAW)
Performance Metrics:
Ensure Safety Management System is maintained in a manner acceptable to internal and external clients and to statutory requirements.Proactively promote a positive safety culture amongst employees and subcontractors.Continually improve the safety management system while aiming to achieve best practice.Willingness to contribute to the senior management of the division on matters in addition to the primary role.Core Competencies:
Experience in the Construction Industry.Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.Strong interpersonal skills to deal with client, management, team members and site personnel.Strong written and oral communication skills.Understanding diversity within a project environment is essential.Qualifications:
HSE Tertiary Qualification (Degree / Diploma / Cert IV / Cert IV Training & Assessing).Training and Environmental qualification.Microsoft Office Suite Intermediate to Advanced level.Experience with administration of HSEQ ISO Certified Management Systems.Current Provide First Aid & CPR Training.
