The Opportunity
In this broad, line 2, Non-financial risk role, you’ll be supporting the delivery of a risk and compliance management function to manage the non-financial risks of the Corporation. In conjunction with the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Principal Risk Advisor (PRA), support the development and delivery of a mature contemporary, integrated, efficient and effective risk management and compliance practices.
  • Oversee operational risk management, including risk assessments and monitoring.
  • Partner with teams to enhance risk awareness, controls, and assurance activities, fostering a strong risk culture to improve risk and compliance outcomes.
  • Monitor the business environment for risks and their potential impacts.
  • Provide risk management advice and reporting to the CRO, Board, CEO, and committees.
  • Develop and maintain risk management policies and reporting capabilities.
  • Use data to identify, report, and drive improvements in the control environment.
  • Lead issue analysis, root cause identification, and control enhancements.
  • Manage the Business Continuity Plan and testing to ensure operational resilience.
  • Research best practices, trends, and emerging risks in operational risk management.
  • Support strategic initiatives and collaborate across teams and stakeholders.
  • Promote a collaborative and teamwork-oriented culture across the organisation.
About You
  • Well-developed knowledge of non-financial risk management practices with specialisation in either, controls, operational risk, compliance, business continuity, 3rd party risk, conduct risk or fraud.
  • You’ll ideally come from banking, financial services or big 4 professional services industry sectors however other highly regulated industry experience also considered.
  • Ability to apply risk frameworks.
  • Strong stakeholder skills with an ability to consult and impact change positively.
  • Striving for continual improvement in themselves, work practices and products and services.
  • Able to provide well informed solutions by being inquisitive, listening attentively and asking thoughtful questions.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking when evaluating options, assessing risks and making recommendations.
