Base salary $81K to $99K
The Role
The ABC is looking for a Social Media Producer to edit, produce, and publish accurate and timely content for ABC Queensland News, focused on ABC’s social platforms.
The Job
Contribute ideas to improve how ABC presents news on social media, including new content formats.
Communicate effectively with and support team members to improve the audience offering.
Consistently create and distribute highly shareable content on social media and emerging platforms and take responsibility for content selection and treatment.
Develop and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders and liaise with ABC content areas to ensure effective cross-media production.
Maintain awareness of industry developments and audience trends, and share these insights.
Generate stories relevant to a broad section of Australians, reflecting the country's diversity.

About You
You'll have:
Strong editorial judgment, teamwork, and journalism skills with social media proficiency.
Skilled in using social media to find and creatively distribute stories.
Deep understanding of user behaviour and its influence on news on social platforms.
Awareness of new media technologies and social media trends.
Knowledge of news consumption trends and experience with online publishing.
A demonstrated and ongoing interest and passion in finding and telling stories that reflect Australia’s diversity.
