The Opportunity
IPC Health have partnered with Western Health and the Royal Children’s Hospital to co-design and lead the Brimbank Melton Children’sHealth and Wellbeing Local!
The Children’s Local provides a ‘one-stop-shop' supporting infants, children and families, delivering services like psychology and psychiatry, allied health, family supports and paediatricians. People with lived experience also form an important part of the Children’s Local workforce. The service supports children aged 0-11 who are experiencing developmental, behavioural or emotional challenges and their families, and focuses on early intervention and providing age-appropriate care.
Within this rewarding role, as Service Navigator you will be part of a multidisciplinary team to delivery effective and collaborative services to families.
There are 2 fixed term opportunities with flexibility to consider minimum 0.6FTE commitment –
- Full Time Fixed Term opportunity until 27 Feb 2026 (Parental Leave Cover); and
- 0.8FTE Part Time Fixed Term opportunity until 27 June 2025 (covering internal secondment)
The role is classified as a Social and Community Services Employee Level 2 under the Community Health Centre (Stand Alone Services) Social And Community Service Employees Multi Enterprise Agreement 2022.
You will make a difference by

Creating a welcoming, inclusive and culturally safe environment for families at the Brimbank Melton Children’s Health and Wellbeing Local (either at the physical site or through telehealth or digital health services)

Conducting holistic initial screenings and needs identification for families that are new or returning to the service.

Supporting smooth transitions and facilitating meaningful connections for families throughout their journey with relevant internal and external services.

Providing administration support as an integrated member of Brimbank Melton Local multi-disciplinary team

Developing and maintaining resource database of, and liaising with, external child and family services that support families in the Brimbank Melton LGA’s.

Educating families and referrers about the Children’s Local, informing them about the services offered and what they can expect from the Children’s Local
To succeed you will need:
- A passion for working with children & families to enhance their health & wellbeing
- Experience working in a community, dental and/or health setting
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to provide culturally inclusive and safe support to a diverse community
- Current, valid Victorian Working with Children’s Check and driver’s licence.
- Relevant certifications in health administration, peer support work, etc
- Lived experience as a parent or carer of a child navigating the health system
- Culturally or linguistically diverse background with strong connections to local community
- Advocacy skills or experience
