Victoria's Housing Statement The **Activity Centre Program** is a key Housing Statement initiative, to deliver more homes close to services, jobs, and transport across Melbourne. Increasing housing choice in places that are well-located and maximise use of existing infrastructure and transport is a key priority to support the liveability and sustainability of our neighbourhoods and communities. We are introducing new planning controls in 10 pilot activity centres, allowing an additional 60,000 homes to be built. 25 new activity centres near train stations or trams have been added to the pilot program currently underway. **About Us ** The Department of Transport and Planning oversees key planning, transport and land use policy decisions and management across the State. A life-cycle approach to planning, building, connecting and sustaining communities means our people can come together to; improve services, deliver sustainable projects, focus on customer engagement, streamline regulatory approval pathways, facilitate community consultation and better realise local economic opportunities for more liveable communities across Victoria. The **Strategy and Precincts** is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning which defines and plans the needs and approach to Victorian places and communities. **About the Role ** The Activity Centre Division works across State Government and with local government, industry and the community to implement the Government’s Activity Centre Program. The Project Support Officer role supports the development and delivery of Planning Controls within Activity Centres. The role supports stakeholder and community engagement, prepares a range of project documents, monitors and reports on project status, contributing to risk and issue management, contribute to the processes for project procurement and contract management and establishes and maintains relationships with multiple stakeholders. The Program Officer is responsible for supporting delivery of the program, including communication and engagement activities, establishing and maintaining effective program management systems, and government approval processes. In a high-profile and collaborative environment, the Program Officers role is to maintain relationships across State and local Government and interfaces with related Housing Statement initiatives to deliver State policy objectives. A Program Officer within Activity Centres is effective in Program Management, understands government processes and program reporting and has previous experience with the preparation of briefs, correspondence & presentations. **Position Outcomes ** The Program Officer plays a key role in supporting the implementation of the Activity Centres program, which includes the delivery of strategic funding and projects. They contribute to the development of policies, program processes, monitoring systems, and support activities that facilitate the execution of the Activity Centres Program, providing high-quality, timely, and accurate advice to senior leaders. In collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, the Program Officer works to support value creation and ensure the high-quality delivery of the work program. Their contributions also extend to the preparation of briefings, responding to correspondence, and aiding in the creation of slide decks and meeting notes. Additionally, the Program Officer assists the team with procurement activities, including contract negotiations, contract creation, purchase order creation, and overall procurement management, ensuring that all activities are conducted efficiently and effectively.
