What to Expect This role is responsible for supporting business development and strategy for the APAC market: partnership relationships related to the Tesla ecosystem, developing new commercial offers across the residential and small commercial market, market entry decisions, investigating and reporting on market fundamentals and trends, and synthesizing tough business problems into executive-level decision points. We are open to applicants based in Melbourne, or Sydney. What You’ll Do - Inform roadmap for load control / interoperability / HEMS strategy for local APAC markets. - Identify needed partners to remain competitive, engage with and own relationships with these ecosystem partners on any commercial arrangements. - Support relationships with third-party retail electricity providers to generate partnerships that maximize value for Tesla Energy and Vehicle customers. - Assess new and emerging markets/market applications/segments to unlock sales opportunities for Powerwall. Drive cross-functional scoping and evaluation of these opportunities. - Drive early BD efforts to support new market entry – assessing landscape and potential for sustainable long-term growth. - Competitive Intelligence: Own local competitive intelligence (products, specs, pricing, offerings, etc.) and synthesize insights to advance commercial and product strategy. - Drive cross-functional efforts across HQ and APAC leadership / executive teams where needed to support critical business decisions / programs. What You’ll Bring - 7+ years of electricity industry experience with a broad understanding of how the solar and storage industry works, ideally across multiple APAC markets - Experience with energy storage technology and value propositions across residential and/or C&I verticals - Experience with new market entry strategy and retail market operations - Ability to project manage large initiatives with many stakeholders, driving towards decisions and demonstrating results - Ability to define and structure broad asks into logical frameworks for analysis and executive decision-making - Very strong written and verbal communication skills appropriate for representing Tesla internally and externally at an executive level - Very strong analytical skills, including basic financial modeling - High proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word - English fluency essential, additional APAC languages highly valued Compensation and Benefits Benefits In addition to a competitive compensation package, Tesla Australia & New Zealand is pleased to offer the following benefits for permanent employees: - Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) - Parental leave (no minimum employment period) - Primary carers – 18 weeks at full pay or 36 weeks half pay - Secondary carers – 6 weeks full pay - Employee Vehicle Loan Program - Novated Leasing (AU only) - Well-being Fund – An annual allowance for all employees to support their well-being in ways that are meaningful to them - Bike to work – $10 per day if you cycle to work - Birthday Leave & Volunteer Leave
