About the role:
The Business Development Manager - VPP is responsible for growing the sales pipeline of new energy opportunities and contracting customers for our C&I VPP (and other related products).
Working closely in particular with the VPP Lead, other Energy Solutions team members and the broader Customer Growth team, this position is critical to scaling up VPP for Hydro Group. This role will understand DER (preferably VPP), energy solutions and the energy industry.
Your key responsibilities include:
• Engage existing C&I clients to grow sales pipeline of new energy opportunities,
• Ability to discuss and pitch VPP and other related energy products to C&I customers,
• Identify and engage new clients and convert the pipeline into new C&I clients,
• Develop robust industry partnerships and go-to-market channels,
• Create effective client engagement models and materials to accelerate the decarbonisation journey of clients,
• Create investment-ready business cases for clients; negotiate and execute commercial offers,
• Identifies new areas and opportunities and works with internal stakeholders to translate this into delivered value.
• Rigour in the development and review of business cases so that the right projects are being initiated that will deliver the greatest organisational impact and return.
• Customer Focussed: You build strong customer relationships and have their best interest at heart,
• Strategic Mindset: You look ahead to future possibilities and think long-term
About you:
- Significant experience in the energy industry (preferably with C&I), and
- Significant Sales/Business Relationship experience in energy industry.
- Knowledge of the energy market, renewable energy, energy storage solutions and distributed energy resources,
- Knowledge of how the energy industry works, in particular C&I customer energy procurement,
- A collaborative approach with the ability to build effective partnerships within own team and across the organisation,
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to listen, understand and modify positions to achieve mutually acceptable outcomes,
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and deliver sound strategic decisions,
