We are currently seeking a Principal Program Officer to join a critical organisation that delivers targeted support to improve social and economic wellbeing of all Queenslanders.You will be doing:
You will be supporting the Queensland community service system, and place-based and community focused approaches to building community well-being.
Investing in programs that promote disaster preparedness, community connection and social cohesion at a local level to increase individual family and community resilience
- Undertaking a range of activities related to program design, planning, analysis, implementation, and reporting that support the effective delivery of services to Queensland communities.
- Taking a programmatic approach to the management of associated funding initiatives including program budget management and investment planning.
- Providing strategic and operational advice and analysis to support decisions of government including correspondence and briefing materials relevant to the work area.
- Supporting program, contract management and service delivery staff in relation to compliance, legislation, performance, problem solving and delivery issues that may arise.
- Providing support to continuously improve program office functions as they relate to assurance, recordkeeping and governance mechanisms within the division.
- Preparing a range of written materials that support advice to government, including correspondence, briefing material, and information papers concerned with the initiatives delivered by the work area.
- Participating in commissioning processes including grant and procurement purchasing activities.
- Actively establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders within the department, and across government and broader human services networks.
- Contributing to strategic priorities of the Division including the Communities 2032 Strategy and First Nations Reform agenda and professionally represent the department at forums and meetings as required.
- Contributing to a professional environment through personal commitment to ethical behaviour, staff wellbeing, skills development, professional growth and continuous improvement.
