Human Capital Manager at Boys Hope Girls Hope of Northeastern Ohio

Boys Hope Girls Hope of Northeastern Ohio (BHGH) is actively seeking an experienced, mission-driven, results-oriented professional to join our team in a newly created senior management position: Chief Program Officer . Through leadership and management of all aspects of our programming, the Chief Program Officer will ensure that each of the 200+ Scholars experience best-in-class opportunities throughout their 12+ year experience with BHGH. The Chief Program Officer reports directly to the Executive Director, currently John McBride, and works closely with the Board of Directors.

Major Responsibilities

Leadership and Management

  1. Serve as the direct manager for the Directors of the Academy, Residential, and Post-Secondary departments as well as the Scholar Recruitment function.
  2. Support in the recruitment and management of a team of full-time and part-time staff members and contracted partners to deliver high-quality, evidence-based curriculum and programming.
  3. Ensure execution of the programmatic design with all relevant stakeholders, including full-time and part-time employees, contracted employees, partners, and volunteers.

Program Vision, Curriculum, and Academic Outcomes

  1. Set and support the vision and execution for Academy, Residential, and Post-Secondary Programming to meet the immediate needs of Scholars, while also focusing on the long-term outcomes for Scholars once they graduate from the program.
  2. Lead the team in the development of set curriculum, experiences, data systems, and customized support for all programs to ensure Scholars reach the long-term goal of career launch.
  3. Gather data through formal and informal methods around the needs of individual Scholars, class cohorts, or Scholar groups to ensure programming initiatives anticipate and respond to Scholar needs in ways that are relevant and impactful.

Culture and Character

  1. Set and maintain high cultural and academic standards while simultaneously creating a culture of care, joy, and belonging for all Scholars and staff.
  2. Create an environment that builds long-term relationships to maintain Scholar, staff, and family satisfaction with the BHGH program model.
  3. Collaborate across departments with members of the Operations, Finance, Human Capital, and Development teams to best utilize resources for Scholars.
  4. Maintain rigorous cultural expectations for all Scholars through behavioral systems while holding all staff to high standards of execution of the cultural vision and practices.
  5. In collaboration with the Director of Staff Development and department leads, support and hold staff members accountable to Trauma Informed Care practices and protocols as well as best practices for Youth Development.

Partnerships and Operations

  1. Support the design and implementation of operational systems that enhance the programming outcomes and lead to long-term staff sustainability.
  2. In collaboration with department leads, provide oversight of family communication, building operations, partner engagement and selection, Scholar experience, and supply and inventory management.
  3. In collaboration with the program directors, manage all third-party groups and community partners supporting the program model, including on-going assessment of each partnership’s alignment with our mission, values, and strategic goals.
  4. Initiate and sustain successful partnerships with key institutions that can provide BHGH with additional interns, volunteers, and opportunities to support Scholars.

Administration and Finance

  1. Manage annual budgets for all BHGH Programs [$1.8M+] and provide key decisions on the overall staffing model to best support the program vision.
  2. Report on program initiatives and activities to Executive Director, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders.
  3. Provide oversight of the program model to meet the reporting needs for compliance, fundraising, marketing, and recruitment.
Experience and Education
  1. 10+ years of experience and a proven track record in managing teams for results and developing individuals; proven management experience supervising 5+ full-time, direct reports strongly preferred.
  2. Post-graduate degree/certificate in Education, Educational Leadership, Nonprofit Administration, or Curriculum Development is preferred.

  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this leadership position is very competitive ranging from $100,000-$130,000 with excellent benefits including group medical and dental coverage, 401(k) plan, tuition reimbursement, life insurance, long-term disability coverage, and 125 Flex Benefit plan.
