About The School
Clinton State School provides educational opportunities for primary age students from Prep to year 6. The school was established in January, 1974 and currently has a total enrolment of 960 students. Clinton State School is located in the western suburbs of Gladstone and is just a 60 minute drive North to Rockhampton. It covers 6.4 hectares of landscaped grounds with two ovals, multi-purpose covered areas and an outstanding performing arts hall.
About The Role

As one of the two allocated primary Deputy Principals, you will manage teachers to make the difference in the success of a child's learning. Your role is to ensure there is a focus on quality teaching in every aspect of pedagogy across the school.
As leaders, we believe the key components of focus around quality teaching are the curriculum, the pedagogy, explicit teaching, the engagement of students, and the timely tracking of student performance including productive feedback to students about their own performance.
Your role will mean that you work as a part of a dynamic leadership team that is committed to educating young people, and we take great pride in enabling our students to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will enable them to lead worthwhile lives and be active, responsible citizens.
You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:
- Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Deputise for the Principal when required.
- Uphold the deputy principalship as a values-based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
