About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Worker to support and mentor young people from CALD backgrounds. In this role, you will deliver mentorship programs, leadership initiatives, and skills-building workshops to foster resilience, confidence, and community connections. You will also provide settlement support to newly arrived young people, assisting them in navigating education, employment, and social services in Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage and support young people from CALD communities through mentoring, development programs and face to face support.
- Design and facilitate capacity-building workshops and personal development activities.
- Provide one-on-one mentorship, case management, and referrals to relevant services.
- Engage and work with schools to support CALD youth, ensuring they have access to appropriate educational, social, and wellbeing resources.
- Provide settlement support to newly arrived young people, assisting with access to education, employment pathways, housing, and community services.
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with schools, community groups, and youth organisations. - Organise youth engagement activities, community events, and advocacy initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, ensuring continuous improvement.
Key Requirements:
- Qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, Community Services, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience working with CALD young people and communities.
- Strong ability to build trusting relationships and provide effective mentorship.
- Experience in developing culturally responsive programs.
- Proven ability to engage with schools and educators to support the needs of CALD youth.
- Experience providing settlement support to newly arrived young people, including knowledge of relevant services and programs.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and networking skills.
Knowledge of youth engagement strategies, child protection policies, and trauma-informed practice. - Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
