Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture Pty Ltd, is Australia’s largest Tin producer. Bluestone is a well-established, high yield tin mine now entering an exciting redevelopment period. The Renison mine is located on Tasmania’s beautiful West Coast between the towns of Zeehan and Rosebery.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Charge Up Operator to join our team on a fixed-term 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate. This role requires working within the environmental limitations and conditions of the Bluestone underground site while ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements and company safety, health, and environmental standards and procedures.
This position is offered as a residential or drive-in drive out 7 days on 7 days off shift roster.
Core responsibilities
- Hold a current Shot Firers and RWC Ticket.
- Safely charge production and development shots as per engineering plans.
- Accurately record and document charges according to the plan.
- Liaise with mine geological, engineering, and survey staff.
- Conduct safe re-entry after blasting and maintain good bookkeeping and recording skills.
- Work with minimal supervision and maintain an organized workplace.
- Conduct pre-start checks on vehicles and machinery, accurately recording work completed, hazards, and machinery condition.
- Perform workplace inspections.
- Ensure consumables are organized for the work.
- Install and retreat services as required.
- Adhere to company values.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to proactively enhance your skills and competency levels through further training as required, while maintaining safety as a priority and actively contributing to a safer workplace. You must have a current shot firers ticket with experience working in an underground mining environment.
