About Me
Hello! I am a 37-year-old female with BPD, Schizophrenia, Intellectual Disability and hearing impaired. I am looking for a Support Worker to assist me in achieving my NDIS goals. My Goal is to live a healthy life.
I enjoy going for a drive and walks to the shop. I also like sitting outside in a backyard diamond painting and gardening.
I require assistance with day to day living which includes household tasks. I contribute to tasks including doing dishes and cleaning up my room but may need support in other tasks throughout my home.
I also have CPAP machine on at night-time or when I’m sleeping, I’m able to run the machine by myself, please make sure this is running properly and I’m comfortable when sleeping before going for your passive shift.
The Role
An Opportunity is available to join my team of wonderful support workers who help to facilitate my daily life. My support workers assist me on a 1 to 1 throughout the day.
When I am feeling down, I can experience bad hallucinations and at times may try to self-harm. In these situations, I would like you to be emphatic, caring and show me compassion. I’m able to communicate my needs during that time. If I do not settle, I will need you to be confident to follow my Crisis Response Plan.

Shifts
I am looking for someone to support me on a part time, below you can see the roster
-
Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday 0700-1500
-
Week 2: Tuesday and Friday PM+P 1500-2200+2200-0600 and Thursday 0700-1500
The ideal candidate will have:

NDIS Worker Screening or DHS Disability related check
-
Current Driver's Licence
-
Current First Aid Certificate
-
Current CPR
-
Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability/Aged Care) or other relevant qualification
-
Dysphagia training
-
Manual Handling Level 2
About you:
To be successful in my team, you will need to be consistent, reliable, and highly passionate. A good match for me would be someone that is able to speak clearly and in a loud tone that will allow me to lip sync.
I have a structured routine that I would expect you to follow. With my limited verbal skills, please show patience and offer me choices and options.
Other requirements:

Experience in working with people who have experience with high behaviours of concern.

Ability to implement individualised developmental programs.

Experience implementing positive behaviour support strategies.

Flexible working hours

Experience in various models of support preferred.

Ability to adapt quickly to changes in service delivery.
