About Us
Hello, we are three participants located in Kingscote on Kangaroo Island. Our ages range from 35 – 65 years old. Our diagnosis includes Down Syndrome, Intellectual Disability and Cerebral Palsy. We are look for creative and engaging support workers to assist us in achieving our NDIS goals.
Activities we love doing include arts and crafts, engaging in the community and exploring outdoors, and watching the latest trends on YouTube.
The Role
An Opportunity is available to join our team of wonderful support workers who help to facilitate our daily life. Our support workers assist us on a 2 to 3 participant ratio throughout the day and passive overnights on a 1 to 3 participant ratio.
We would love to have you join our team and assist us with our gardening activities and engaging in the community at our local football club. Our favourite AFL team is the Crows, it would be a bonus if you follow the AFL. On the weekends we love going out together and have bbqs in the local park as well as community events that are on.
We are seeking a Support Worker who is wanting to join a team environment, passionate about provide person-centred active support and someone with a great sense of humour.
If you are new to the sector, that is okay. Our team can develop your skills to provide us quality supports.
Key responsibilities

- Manual Handling
- Experience supporting non-verbal participants (desirable)
- Support us to achieve our goals to reach out potential in all facets of our lives.
- Support our life skill development through proper implementation of established plans and programs to support the achievement of goal outcomes for us.
- Actively engage in person centred active support.
- Maintain accurate records.
Shifts
We are looking for someone to support us on a Part Time basis. The shifts for this position are
Week 1
Monday 0700 - 0900 & 1500 - 1800
Tuesday 0700 - 0900 & 1500 - 1800
Wednesday 0700 - 0900 & 1500 - 1800
Saturday 0730 - 1400
Sunday 0730 - 1400
Week 2
Thursday 0700 - 0900 & 1500 - 1800
Friday 0700 - 0900 & 1500 - 1800
The ideal candidate will have
- NDIS Worker Screening or DHS Disability related check
- Current Driver's Licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability/Aged Care) or other relevant qualification
About you:
We are looking for a creative and intuitive person to join my team. A good match for us would be someone who has an efficient and confident approach in what they do and possesses a calm and patient nature.
Other requirements:
- Flexible working hours
- Experience in various models of support preferred.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in service delivery.
