The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for two Shift Manager’s to join our team in Perth. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the successful candidates will join our Shift Teams and manage the shift operation of the value stream and provide effective leadership to staff to achieve required Safety, Quality and Production performance targets and determine efficiency improvements. Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to;
  • Drive a safety-first culture and promote employees to identify and implement OH&S improvements.
  • Educate, coach, engage and develop to create a high performing team to achieve/exceed KPI’s in safety, quality, productivity, waste, and financial.
  • Contribute to plant improvement initiatives through active leadership and implementation of LEAN and CI methodologies.
  • Develop manufacturing skills and capability within your team and implement & foster succession plans.
  • Analyse and understand manufacturing measure output data and develop concepts in conjunction with the team to improve site performance.
  • Manage production start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers ensuring you meet shift production goals.
  • Ensure quality and hygiene standards are maintained to produce right first-time product.
  • Effective cross functional communication.
  • Identify and escalate issues, and actively manage these by proposing and implementing optimal solutions
The Person
To be a successful candidate for this role, you will have previous experience the same or similar role whilst also obtaining the following;
  • Experience in a similar production leadership role, ideally within the FMCG industry.
  • A strong leadership background and skillset, with an ability to coach and develop a team to deliver excellent results.
  • Experience in LEAN manufacturing and delivering change, as well as implementing continuous improvement.
  • A demonstrated history in achieving improved production in a manufacturing environment, with a safety-first attitude.
  • A hands-on leader with a can-do attitude.
  • High Care production facility experience is advantageous.
  • Previous management of an afternoon shift is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, coaching, consultation, and negotiation skills with an ability to engage and influence stakeholders as well as being able to connect with people at different levels.
