Samford State School is looking for a highly motivated, flexible and enthusiastic cleaner. As a cleaner, you will contribute to providing efficient and effective operation and environment of the site by providing a high level of cleaning support. You will also ensure all duties prescribed for the position are completed to an acceptable standard as determined by your supervisor in accordance with the approved school cleaning program.The successful applicant must be able to work split shifts between 5:30am-9am/2.30-6pm, 5 days per week 38 hours per week (plus ADO).

About The School
Opened in 1872, Samford State School remained relatively small until the past fifteen years brought a steady increase in families moving into the area. Currently, there are 824 children enrolled in the school. Notwithstanding its size, the close-knit country feel of school and community has endured.
About The Role
Responsibilities include:
- Cleaning windows, pictures, doorknobs, taps, sinks, drinking fountains, lavatory basins, glassware, glass doors and cupboards.
- Cleaning and sanitising toilet facilities and sick bays.
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
- Cobweb and mildew control, utilising extendable equipment as necessary.
- Cleaning of concrete, bitumen, asphalt and paved surfaces.
- Disposal of rubbish and litter control including removal of material from drains and gutters between and/or surrounding buildings.
- Dusting including student and office furniture, equipment and fans.
- Hosing.
- Removal of graffiti.
- Sweeping and vacuuming.
- Vinyl/timber floor maintenance including buffing, stripping and polishing.
- Other appropriate cleaning duties as directed by the Principal/Business Manager.
- Activating and disarming school security systems as required.
- Locking and unlocking buildings.
