About the role:
Saines Lucas are seeking a progressive and autonomous Practice Manager to drive the firm's success by managing daily operations and the human resource function, optimising workflows and integrating new technology. Reporting directly to the Partners, this is an autonomous, self-driven role requiring skills in relationship management, problem solving and a continuous improvement focus. You will be based at the Ballarat head office and will travel regularly to the regional offices. This is a varied role with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact and contribute to the firm's success by fostering stability and enhancing business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Daily operations; ensure the firm operates efficiently and effectively and manage the people resourcing to deliver on business objectives.
  • Finance Management; prepare budgets, track financial performance, manage the finance team, work closely with the external accountant, identify cost savings.
  • Compliance and Risk Management; ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, manage and mitigate risks
  • Human Resource Management; attract, engage and retain team members, foster a positive culture, manage performance and professional training and development
  • Business Development; build mutually beneficial relationships to foster growth and build the brand of the firm
  • Marketing; develop and manage initiatives to grow the brand and reputation of the firm, manage sponsorships
  • Technology; ensure the firm is at the forefront of technology trends, lead and manage technology projects, manage software and hardware
  • Facilities Management for all office locations

About You - We are looking for:
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership and management role within a professional services setting - Legal sector experience not required.
  • A successful track record in managing operations, improving operational efficiency, achieving outcomes and keeping abreast of contemporary operations - office practices.
  • Business - Commercial acumen, well developed financial management skills, strategic thinking and an appreciation for key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, build rapport and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organisation and problem - solving skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while meeting deadlines.
  • You will be self-driven, use initiative, solve problems and have a continuous improvement mindset.
