Haynes is Seeking Barrier Attendants to assist with race day operations in the Mackay region .
About the Role:
- Loading horses into barriers quickly and safely
- Ensuring jockey safety by checking and refitting riding equipment
- Handling and moving rails, barriers, and other trackside equipment
- Working in a high-pressure environment with strict time constraints
- Performing additional tasks as required
What We're Looking For:
- Ability to work under time restraints while ensuring safety and efficiency
- Strong awareness and ability to make quick decisions in unpredictable situations
- Physically fit to handle horses and move barriers and rails
- Previous experience with horses is highly advantageous
Position Details:
- Location: Mackay Region
- Roster: Aligned with the racing calendar
- Hours: Typically, 12 PM - 5 PM (varies by race season)
- Rate: $50/hr flat rate
- Requirements: Must be able to pass a PEM & DAS if required
