Position Details
Whitford Catholic Primary School is a triple stream school founded in the Mercy tradition. The school caters for 760 students in a co-educational setting from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6. Whitford Catholic Primary School boasts committed staff who work together in a collaborative and high trust environment.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the Finance Officer is primarily responsible for Family Billing and Collection of School Fees and Payroll duties using MyHR system. They must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and excellent communication and organisational skills, respecting confidentiality requirements.
Working hours are Monday – Friday, 8.00am until 4.00pm, during the school terms (+ 2 weeks).

Accounts Receivable
Responsible for set up, processing and generating Family/Student fees, concessions, payment schedules. Process fee receipts on a daily basis including posting all BPAY, DD and EFT transactions to the AOS accounting system and reconciling those bank accounts daily. First point of contact for all fee related enquiries. Manage School Fee Collection in line with CEWA and School policy including record keeping of all meetings, conversations and correspondence with families and regular follow up with families if there has been a missed payment. Report regularly to Senior Finance Manager regarding Family accounts.
Payroll
Attend to all enquiries relating to staff extra hours worked. Accurately complete and forward all payroll forms for school based staff and relief staff. Ensure extra hours worked by school based staff and relief staff are entered in MyHR. Prepare Staff contracts as directed by Senior Finance Manager. Maintain MyHR system with staff updates.
Other
Provide assistance and support to the Senior Finance Manager and the Administration team. Other duties, as requested by the Principal and/or Leadership Team. Ensure banking is undertaken in an appropriate manner.
Selection Criteria
Demonstrate skills in the position details. Have or be willing to attain the appropriate Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School. Child Protection Procedures Mandatory Reporting Training will need to be completed within two weeks from commencement of employment. Demonstrate ability to work independently, to prioritise work, take initiative and meet deadlines. Be a flexible and enthusiastic Finance Officer who will work collaboratively as part of a team. Assist with providing informed and friendly customer service to all students, caregivers, staff, suppliers and visitors.
Qualifications Required
Previous experience in Finance or Administration within CEWA schools. Able to efficiently use AOS system. Bookkeeping or Financial qualifications or experience.
