Hands on Store Manager – Cooroy Harvest Fresh and Café

Our Cooroy store is a vibrant local destination known for its fresh produce, specialty groceries, and welcoming café. About the Role
This is not a back-office position — it’s a fully hands-on, floor-based leadership role. As Store Manager, you’ll be working in the business , leading by example on the shop floor every day. From early morning produce setups to managing wholesale orders and supporting the café team, you’ll be actively involved in every aspect of operations. This full-time role offers a competitive salary and long-term growth within the JB Alliance Retail Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day store and café operations with a strong hands-on, floor-based presence including serving customers.
- Curate the right product mix — especially fresh produce and organic grocery lines — based on customer demand, trends, and community preferences.
- Conduct product research, monitor industry trends, and regularly review performance to introduce high-demand items and sale underperforming stock quickly.
- Ordering and stock control to ensure product availability, reduce waste, and manage costs.
- Manage the Fruit & Veg department — ensure displays are fresh, fully stocked, rotated, and visually appealing.
- Manage Café operations — maintain quality, speed of service, cleanliness, and consistency in menu delivery.
- Implement effective merchandising strategies and maintain planograms to maximize product visibility and sales.
- Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends, manage stock movement, and drive revenue growth.
- Plan and execute in-store promotions, specials, and cross-sell opportunities to increase customer spend.
- Recruit, train, lead, and support team members in both store and café, including junior staff, to uphold service standards and control labour costs.
- Coordinate timely wholesale order preparation and deliveries to local businesses, cafes, and schools.
- Foster strong customer relationships and a positive shopping experience in both the store and café.
- Collaborate with other managers and the JB Alliance Retail Group to share insights and implement best practices.
What We’re Looking For
3–5 years’ experience in a retail or café management role — ideally in fresh produce, groceries, or hospitality.
A hands-on, lead-from-the-front management style — this is a role for someone who thrives on the floor, not behind a desk.
Experience in wholesale order handling and delivery coordination.
Confident team manager with experience training and leading junior staff.
Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple moving parts.
A genuine interest in sustainability, local produce, and community.
Experience with organic grocery lines is a strong advantage.
