The Opportunity
Moonee Valley City Council is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Administration and Information Officer to join the team at the Djerring Flemington Hub. This vibrant community facility serves as the heart of the community, providing a welcoming space for events, programs, and social interactions. In this role, you will work closely with a small team to deliver high-quality customer service to visitors, hirers, and community groups. Your efforts will ensure the smooth daily operations of the Hub and provide valuable administrative support to the wider Community Development team.

Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service online, face-to-face and via phone to ensure a positive experience for community members, visitors and users.
- Support community hirers with booking requirements, including managing space bookings and maintaining accurate records.
- Oversee reception and concierge duties, providing information and guidance within the facility.
- Perform administrative tasks such as processing payments, invoices, and purchase orders, and assist with financial procedures.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of community and commercial events, including promotion, enrolments, and engagement.
- Facilitate the induction of new employees and hirers, ensuring a clear understanding of the Hub’s operations and safety procedures.
- Ensure the Hub's facilities remain well-maintained, clean, and compliant with safety regulations, including OH&S checks and reports.
- Support the Community Development team with various administrative tasks such as rostering, meeting agendas, and tracking action items.
- Maintain service referral resources and knowledge to provide Hub users and public with accurate advice and information, including referral to other Council services and publications.
- Support program and event delivery at the Centre (community and commercial) including engagement, promotion, and enrolments.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience in customer service, particularly in an administrative or community-focused setting. You should be comfortable managing bookings, working with payment and invoicing systems, and supporting event delivery within a community or cultural context. A strong ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, is essential. This role requires proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant booking and financial software, along with strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
A background in providing services to Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities is highly desirable. Experience working in a community environment will be advantageous. Additionally, First Aid and Fire Warden certifications are desirable but not mandatory.
