About the Role:Shadbolt Group is seeking a skilled Painter to join our team on a FIFO basis for projects in NSW. As a Painter, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper application of paint and corrosion protection, adhering to project specifications, and maintaining a high standard of quality and safety on site. You will be part of a dedicated team focused on delivering excellence in surface preparation and paint application, while also contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of the work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surface Preparation & Painting : Perform all activities related to surface preparation and the application of paint, in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Inspection & Quality Control : Regularly inspect equipment for cleanliness and functionality; conduct visual inspections and assist with Dry Film Thickness (DFT) inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate records of paint activities, surface preparation, and DFT measurements, updating project documentation as required.
- Waste Management : Maintain a clean work environment and ensure the proper disposal of waste according to OEM and project regulations.
- Collaboration : Work closely with shift supervisors, paint inspectors, and the QC/QA team to ensure smooth operations and quality outcomes.
- Safety & Compliance : Actively participate in creating a safe working environment, adhering to Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) standards, wearing the correct PPE, and reporting safety issues.
- Continuous Improvement : Support ongoing improvements in workplace culture, quality control techniques, and environmental sustainability.
- Trade Qualification (essential).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a paint workshop or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of AS Code requirements for surface preparation and painting.
- Experience with various blast and paint processes (e.g., steel grit, garnet, airless, pressure pot) (preferred).
- First Aid certification (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality .
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead when required.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Strong focus on continuous improvement and sustainability .
- Comfortable working in a FIFO role, with the ability to work well in a remote environment.
