A leading business providing end-to-end solutions in manufacturing, warehousing, print, and distribution is seeking a Business Development Manager & Head of Business Development to join its established team in Western Sydney. Backed by over 50 years of commercial success, it continues to drive innovation and industry excellence.With significant growth and strategic corporate transformation underway, the Business Development Leaders will play a critical role in businesses expansion efforts, driving revenue growth, and identifying new business opportunities.
Reporting to the CEO, these pivotal positions will work in partnership with the leadership team, internal and external stakeholders and team, to shape sales strategies, develop new and existing pipelines, and produce business strategy and annual planning process for sales functions.
These newly created Business Development Leadership roles will focus on the following:
- Identify and target prospective clients, building a robust pipeline of qualified leads through strategic prospecting, market research, and networking.
- Develop and execute tailored sales strategies to meet revenue and growth targets, delivering compelling proposals and presentations aligned with client needs.
- Coach and manage the business development team, ensuring effective lead generation, sales process adherence, and pipeline management to drive income growth (*for the Head role).
- Drive innovation within business development, providing valuable research, insights, and strategic direction to the team and the organisation.
- Actively identify and pursue opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional services to existing clients, ensuring service expansion and increased revenue.
- Develop and manage the business development department’s budget, ensuring cost efficiency and tracking performance metrics to measure sales, client acquisition, and revenue growth.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in business development and sales within the logistics or supply chain industry, with the ability to identify new opportunities, close deals, and drive revenue growth.
- Experience in coaching and managing teams to achieve business objectives, with a focus on motivating, mentoring, and ensuring high performance within a business development team (*head role).
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, stakeholders, and prospects.
- Ability to contribute to the development of business strategies, sales plans, and growth targets, with a strong focus on market analysis and competitor intelligence.
- Deep understanding of the logistics and 3PL sector, including trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, enabling the identification of opportunities for business growth and improvement.
- Skilled in tracking and analysing key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor sales performance, client acquisition, and revenue growth, ensuring alignment with business goals.
