Looking for a hands-on role where you can gain exposure to large-scale infrastructure and reliability challenges?We’re hiring a Junior Site Reliability Engineer on a 12-month contract for a well-established e-commerce company that operates a high-traffic online platform. This is an opportunity to work within a team that values automation, reliability, and performance.
About the Role
- Maintain and improve AWS-based infrastructure, ensuring reliability and scalability.
- Support capacity planning, availability, scalability, security and latency considerations for new infrastructure and service provisioning as appropriate.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot incidents and help improve system resilience.
- Collaborate with developers to enhance performance and deployment processes.
- Automate operational tasks to reduce manual work.
- Prior SRE experience desirable but not required, we are open to candidates from a Software Engineering, Development, or similiar DevOps background
- At least 2 years of experience working with AWS in a production environment.
- Experience with programming lanauges (Java, Nodejs, Python, Shell, GO)
- Experience with Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
- Some experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus).
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen interest in reliability engineering.
- Inner-west based role – due to limited public transport options, having your own car is strongly preferred
- This role offers a mix of on-site and work from home, but you’ll need to be available for in-person collaboration 2-3 days per week
