About the Role
To respond to animal control and community safety compliance issues across the Maranoa region, with the aim to increase awareness, education and voluntary compliance. Areas of focus include animal control, unsightly and overgrown allotments and abandoned vehicles.
This role includes providing a rapid response to community safety situations such as dog attacks and wandering animals, and assists with the operation and maintenance of Councils Animal Pound.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to urgent community safety situations both during and after hours.
- Conduct inspections and investigations to enforce compliance under relevant legislation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance community safety initiatives.
- Facilitate rehoming initiatives and pet education programs.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for legal and operational purposes.

Mandatory Qualifications & Licences
- Current C (Car) Class Driver Licence.
- Local Government Worker and Authorised Person training (training provided upon commencement).
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations or equivalent experience in compliance-related activities.
Other Requirements
- Participation in a rotating roster for after-hours on-call duties, including pound management.
- Use of body cameras to record interactions for safety and accountability.

- Council is seeking to fill two available positions
- Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award – State 2017 - Level 3
- Maranoa locality allowance - $72.00 per fortnight
- Superannuation and annual leave loading
- Five weeks annual leave, fortnightly RDOs and 15 days personal leave
