About Nightcliff Campus
Nightcliff Campus, managed by Child Australia in partnership with Nightcliff Primary School, offers a nurturing environment for children’s education and care. The campus includes an Early Learning Centre (ELC) and Outside School Hours Care (OSHC). The programmes emphasise learning through play, intentional teaching strategies, and opportunities for children to connect with nature and develop problem-solving skills. The campus prioritises children within the Nightcliff school zone and supports smooth transitions from ELC to primary school, fostering strong attachments and a sense of belonging.
Operating hours are from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

About the Role
We are searching for a passionate and inspiring leader for our Nightcliff Early Learning Centre (59 places). This is a Permanent Full-Time role working 75 hours per fortnight with the option available to work a condensed fortnight (work 9 longer days, get the 10th day off).
What You’ll do
Responsibilities include, however are not limited to:
- Provide pedagogical leadership to ensure quality care and education programs for children, and direction, support and continuous learning for staff.
- Provide a vibrant, interesting, varied and appropriate children’s program that is developed and implemented to meet the ongoing needs of the children as per the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Ensure that the philosophy, policies and procedures of the Service are upheld, implemented and reviewed regularly to meet relevant requirements.
- Maintain compliance and work within the National Regulations and Law along with all legal and statutory requirements.
- Build relationships and strong connections between families and the Centre.
- Actively support the mission, vision and values of the organisation.
- Monitor the utilisation of services and financial expenditure to ensure compliance within budget.
- General staff management responsibilities such as recruitment, rosters and performance management.
What You Need to be Successful in this Role
- Minimum of a diploma or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education (or a relevant field), approved by ACECQA
- Demonstrated understanding of EYLF and National Quality Standards
- Demonstrated awareness of the Early Childhood Sector and contemporary ECEC policy, practices and compliance
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- Highly developed management skills
- Experience in budget management and financial planning
- Valid Working with Children Check card
- Commitment to high quality inclusive education and care
- Willingness to try new and innovative ideas and make them work.
