Description:
This role provides support to the Senior Manager Marketing and Community Engagement by providing leadership, oversight and strategic management of the education program.Duties and Key Responsibilities:
1. Provides leadership, oversight and strategic management of the education program;
2. Responsible for the development and implementation of strategies and policies to implement a broad-based heritage education program;
3. Responsible for the promotion and management of the National Trust's heritage education schools and public program;
4. Responsible for the development, implementation, distribution and maintenance of heritage education resource materials and programs;
5. Assists in identifying and highlighting educational opportunities for heritage conservation, heritage management and community engagement;
6. Assists in identifying and highlighting the educational importance of conservation and interpretation across all program areas of the National Trust;
7. Assists in the development of the community's knowledge, awareness, understanding and commitment to conserve and interpret their heritage;
8. Develops and maintains links and involvement of major stakeholders in the education/heritage field;
9. Assists in the identification and development of education schools and public programs which provide a natural link to specific events associated with Western Australia's heritage;
10. Identifies and promotes staff training and professional development opportunities;
11. Responsible for the budgetary and financial requirements and reporting processes in all areas of responsibilities; and
12. Other duties as directed by the CEO.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Essential:
1. Demonstrated experience in leadership, oversight and strategic management of education programs, both schools and public;
2. Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation, distribution and maintenance of education resource materials;
3. Demonstrated high level organisational and financial management skills;
4. Demonstrated high level communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal);
5. Sound, demonstrated ability of information technology skills, including the use of MS Office Suite of software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point);
6. Demonstrated understanding of the value and significance of Western Australia's cultural and natural heritage;
7. "C" Class Driver's Licence; and
8. A Working with Children's Card and a National Police Clearance.
Desirable:
1. Experience working with volunteers; and
2. Knowledge of the heritage industry.

Following an initial twelve month fixed-term contract, with a six month probationary period, subject to satisfactory performance and financial viability, a longer term extensio0n may be offered.
