Description:
The Senior Education and Engagement Officer is responsible for supporting the Assistant Director -
Education and Engagement to lead the development and delivery of evidence-based education, resources and advice to support compliance with the National Code. The role will assist in leading the development and delivery of education, advice and engagement activities to support implementation of trauma-informed prevention and response strategies and approaches across the higher education sector consistent with the National Code standards and requirements.
As a Senior Education and Engagement Officer you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining a positive working relationships and contribute to a positive team culture and taking reasonable care of your own health, safety and wellbeing.
- Developing and assisting with the development of clear and comprehensive regulatory guidance and advice to assist the higher education sector to understand and comply with the National Code.
- Developing and supporting the delivery of training, resources and other materials, workshops, and seminars to educate the sector on the National Code and gender-based violence prevention and response strategies.
- Providing expert advice and support to higher education providers in developing and implementing gender-based violence prevention and response initiatives.
- Engagement with stakeholders, including government, higher education providers, student groups, and community organizations, to promote best practices and collaborative efforts in preventing and responding to gender-based violence.
- Drafting and supporting the creation of internal and external training and other materials on the National Code and gender-based violence prevention and response strategies.
- Supporting the monitoring of the effectiveness of educational programs and engagement activities, making recommendations for improvements and adjustments as needed.
- Engaging and supporting the unit at conferences, forums, and other events to share knowledge and promote the importance of education and engagement with the National Code and preventing and responding to gender-based violence
- Drafting and supporting the ongoing development and implementation of internal and public-facing educational and engagement materials and to support the National Code.
- Staying informed about current research, trends, and best practices in gender-based violence education and engagement, and incorporate this knowledge into program development, design and delivery.

- Citizenship: Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing.
- Security Clearance: This is a designated security assessed position. The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
