About the role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to fill the role of Project and Community Engagement Officer within our Kalgoorlie Aboriginal Short Stay Accommodation.
We have 1 part time position available for 60.8 hours per fortnight on a contract until June 2026.
Reporting to the General Manager the successful candidates primary purpose is to support the transition of the Kalgoorlie Aboriginal Short Stay Accommodation service to MercyCare and provide ongoing community engagement activities to enable the service’s transition to an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organsiation long term. The role will ensure all transition and community engagement activities are delivered through culturally secure mechanisms acknowledging the needs of all service users, stakeholders and communities involved.
About you
The successful applicant will be well organised with an aptitude for working with people from a variety of backgrounds adhering strongly to the values of compassion, respect and integrity. You will have an understanding of evidence-based service models for working with
Aboriginal people and communities with a desired experience and knowledge in the areas of project management and community development. You thrive in a collaborative, busy team environment and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office. You will have a track record of being solutions-focused, with a knack for problem-solving. Knowledge of issues presented by regional Aboriginal people and communities is desired with experience working alongside other welfare agencies and professionals.
Additionally, to be successful in the role you will have the following:
- Experience working in a similar role.
- Tertiary Degree in relevant Human Services field is desirable

- National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 6 months)
