Description:
The role is responsible for supporting the establishment and delivery of an effective regulatory scheme, efficient regulatory operations and compliance and enforcement functions. The role will assist with the development and oversight of systems and processes for timely and high-quality compliance and enforcement operations, decision-making and action, supporting delivery of the regulatory strategy for the National Code.
The key duties of the position include:As an APS6 Senior Compliance and Enforcement Officer you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with the development of risk thresholds and standard operating procedures to support the operation of the Unit.
- Providing technical advice and regulatory expertise to team members.
- Applying precedent, legislation, policy, procedures and guidelines to situations involving complexity and sensitivity which require considerable interpretation and analysis.
- Developing, conducting and reporting on audit/quality control activities.
- Reviewing and assessing whole-of-organisation prevention and response plans and reporting and working collaboratively with subject matter and other experts across the Unit.
- Contributing to the development of clear and comprehensive regulatory guidance and advice to assist the higher education sector to understand and comply with their legal duties under the National Code.
- Developing high quality and timely written and verbal advice for a broad range of purposes
- Writing briefs, reports, and publications for a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Exercising sound judgment under a risk-based framework when assessing complex and time critical matters
- Working collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
- Supervising team members.

- Security Clearance: This is a designated security assessed position. The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
